In order to solve the conflict in Sudan, a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue is needed in which Sudanese people participate as owners

In order to solve the conflict in Sudan, an African-led, comprehensive and inclusive dialogue in which Sudanese people participate as owners is needed, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taye Atsiksilase.

The Minister received and spoke to the members of the African Union Sudan High Panel Group, which was set up to resolve the conflict in Sudan within the framework of the African Union Peace and Security Council.

In order to solve the conflict in Sudan at the time, the minister stated that there is a need for a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue led by the African Union, in which Sudanese people participate as owners.

He also promised that Ethiopia is happy and will provide all possible support to the Sudan panel set up by the African Union to resolve the problem in Sudan.

The chairman of the group, Muhammad Ibn Chambas, expressed the need for an immediate response to the humanitarian crisis and related problems caused by the conflict.

The information we received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that Ethiopia’s contribution to peace in Sudan is high, and that they have been asked to continue strengthening it.

The African Union’s Sudan High Panel is headed by the Special Envoy of the Union (Silencing the Guns), Mohamed Chambas, and is said to consist of Uganda’s former Vice President Sepelioza Kazikowe and the former African Union’s Special Representative for Somalia, Ambassador Francisco Madra.
