Ethiopian Airlines Group is building 5 more domestic airports, the Chief Executive Officer of the organization said.
According to the CEO, the airline is working to expand domestic and international destinations.
He mentioned that the number of planes that the airline flies is increasing. Currently, it has 136 international and 22 domestic destinations.
He stated that the airports to be built are Tepi Aman, Negele Borena, Yabelo, Gore Mettu and Debre Markos; He pointed out that the four will be completed within one year.
He said that this will be implemented following the needs of domestic customers and construction will continue based on the research of other destinations.
On the other hand, he mentioned that the damaged Aksum and Kabridehar airports are being renovated. ESA reported that the CEO said that they will start working soon.
Ethiopian Airlines has set a vision to increase its annual revenue to 25 billion dollars by 2035 and carry 67 million passengers a year.
